World Map [Extraordinary Rendition]

This is a political world map collage about extraordinary rendition, defined as state-sponsored "forcible abduction in another jurisdiction and transfer to a third state". The phrase usually refers to the United States-led program of extraordinary rendition during the so called War on Terror,  which had the purpose of circumventing the source country's laws on interrogation, detention, extradition and/or torture. This modified map combines inkjet printed paper with acrylic and other media including tape. It will fade and discolor with time. This aging is an intended aspect of the artwork. It has been framed in archival, ph neutral conditions to aid its longevity, which is likely to be longer than a single human lifetime.
